With the advent of the Localism Act, community involvement and participation are now key features of the planning and development process.
We have extensive experience of organising and facilitating consultation and engagements events. Many of our projects, past and present, have brought successful planning outcomes, not only for the developer but for local groups and communities as well. Effective and consistent consultation can help inform good and responsible decision-making and aid a community sense of ownership in development proposals.
We regularly work with both the private and the public sector and can adapt public consultation to the specific needs of any project. We can organise and host:
- open days and public exhibitions/displays;
- design workshops;
- drop in sessions at key locations;
- one-to-one and small group meetings; and
- presentations to community groups and parish councils.
We also have significant experience preparing Statements of Community Involvement, to explain any public consultation events held and to identify how responses have been considered in final plans for a site.
